World Vision & KIDS Foundation

6 January 2011 – The Magi, also referred to as the (Three) Wise Men, (Three) Kings, or Kings from the East, are a group of distinguished foreigners who are said to have visited Jesus after his birth, bearing gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh.

  • Myrrh being commonly used as an anointing oil
  • frankincense as a perfume
  • gold as a valuable.

These gifts said to have spiritual meaning:

  • gold as a symbol of kingship on earth
  • frankincense (an incense) as a symbol of priestship
  • myrrh (an embalming oil) as a symbol of death.

But us, westernized Catholics and Christians generally describe the gifts as:

  • gold symbolizing virtue
  • frankincense symbolizing prayer
  • myrrh symbolizing suffering.

The day immediately following the twelve days of Christmas, the Christians celebrates the Magi on the day of Epiphany, January 6. For the Spanish folks and Us, Filipinos; the “Los Tres Reyes Magos” receive wish letters from children and in return, “magically” bring gifts on the night before the Epiphany.

Thank you, friends!

This year, because of the success and unexplainable gratitude blessed upon me during the campaign run for a cause for Maple Tree Foundation on my first international destination marathon in Singapore, I whole-heartedly helped Jeman Villanueva - friend, Owner & Editor-in-Chief of Orange Magazine TV to answer KIDS Foundation and World Vision letters.

Together with Francis Magalona Clothing Co. (FMCC), Star City and Animal Wonderland, we were able to bring “magic” to the kids.

Endless thanks to Karen de los Reyes – the girl infamously known in the Mcdonalds commercial “Gina po, Karen po“, recent Survivors Philippines Survivor and photographer, Kat Agarrado – vocalist of the band Sino SiKat?, and  Bryan Termulo – Pinoy Pop Superstar Singer for reaching out and extended their love by spending their precious time with the children around the park, rode some kiddie rides, walked at the winter wonderland and showed-off  that there’s no such thing as fear at the short zip-line at Animal Wonderland.

Also, thanks to TV 5 for covering and featuring the said the event.

Another one marked DONE from my  2011 Bucket List but I don’t mind whipping and participating in more other Charitable events.

When you help others, God will find his way to help you, too! Why not adopt a child (sponsor) and help fund their education through World Vision or volunteer to participate in KIDS Foundation charitable events?
